Концептуальная метафора и сравнение в жанровой дифференциации профессионального дискурса

The paper dwells upon the problem of the conceptual metaphors and similies functioning in the professional discourse. In order to specify what the professional discourse is the author considers the notions of “genre” and “discourse”. The stylistic features of professional discourse are analyzed in the light of of the dictemic theory. Proceeding from M. Y. Blokh’s theory of two natural languages of people the author analyzes different genres of professional discourse. Special attention is given to professional discourse in the Internet. To illustrate the inherent ability of metaphors and similies to be involved in all the types of professional discourse the author examines the written and oral materials of various works of politicians, artists and fine arts experts.
