The problem of human coping with difficult life situations. Taking into account the criticism of the "postulate congruity" - adaptability of mental processes and behavioral acts of the individual. The author analyzes the main approaches to the study of coping on the example of behaviorism, psychoanalysis, humanistic psychology, cognitive behavior therapy and gestalt therapy. The challenge is to reconcile, on the one hand, individual target setting for adaptation, and the other - its aspiration to move beyond the limits of the situation. In the context of multisubject approach V.A. Petrovsky is an attempt to solve this problem unfolded. It has been shown both by masters the behavior (that means "suprasituational" position of the person) open new possibilities for resolving a difficult situation (through that you need to go through to get into the world of "the other side" know). It presents various options for scanning the subject's activity - new models of adaptive and maladaptive behaviors. In psychological discourse introduced a new concept - emotional "flutter" ("bumpiness") - which means a state of heightened tension and instability, due to the uncertainty of a positive or negative outcome of the situation. The idea of passing emotional flutter regarded as "psychological tool" (L.S. Vygotsky) seizes behavior.
