Inefficient inventory management leads to the two problems: the formation of out of stock assets and the emergence of products deficit. In order to eliminate these difficulties it is need to develop the optimal strategy for inventory management.
The article provides an overview and analysis of studies of both Russian and foreign experts in the management of stocks and also it is identified disadvantages of existing approaches; it is made the methodical approach to stock assessment at the rare nature of demand; it is represented the examples of calculating reserves on the basis of the developed technique.
