The issue of adolescent values is becoming increasingly important. Value orientations largely determine a teenager’s life position and worldview. Research into the values that are significant for schoolchildren requires consideration of the agerelated changes that occur in their value-moral sphere during the transition from early to late adolescence. Puberty is particularly significant, as processes related to adolescent self-determination begin to play a significant role. Qualitative changes in adolescent self-awareness, physiological shifts, and inconsistencies in emotional-volitional spheres are often accompanied by impulsivity, anxiety, and difficulties in self-determination. The structure of the study allows for more than simply acknowledging the existence of a particular hierarchy of value orientations among modern adolescents. It also suggests a more indepth exploration of this issue by examining the connections between value orientations and the specific social contexts of adolescent development (family, school). The resulting patterns allow for a more complete description of the psychological mechanisms of individual social behavior and, on this basis, the design of optimal developmental procedures.
