ЯВЛЯЕТСЯ ЛИ СОВРЕМЕННОЕ РОССИЙСКОЕ ОБЩЕСТВО ПОЛИТАРНЫМ?
The article discusses the history of the concept of ‘politarism’ which emerged within the Soviet scientific discourse of the 1980s and the key features of the ‘politar (Asian) mode of production’. Also, the author studies the possibilities of applying the concept of ‘a politar society’ for the analysis of historical events of the Soviet epoch in the history of Russia. It is shown that the criteria of the ‘politar society’ apply to the Soviet system, which was based on the state ownership of the means of production, rather than on public property, the latter implying existence of social equality, justice and freedom. However, contemporary Russian society possesses only some characteristics of a politar organization. These characteristics are associated with the state’s excessive role in social life. However, this society cannot be considered as a politar one because it has parcel private property, developed social differentiation, significant elements of a democratic system, and etc.
