At HSE University–St Petersburg, Experts Discuss How AI Changes Tourist Routes and Cultural Heritage
Neural networks are no longer simple travel assistants; now they decide what to include on the route and what to skip. Artificial intelligence changes how people perceive a place and shapes the image of tourist centres. At the II International Scientific and Practical Conference ’Information Technologies in the Preservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage,’ researchers discussed who controls algorithmic solutions and in what ways, and whether authentic traditions get lost in them.

Transposing Political and Regional Identities After Moving to Megalopolises: An Interaction Model (Evidence from Russia)

Journal of International Migration and Integration. 2026. Vol. 27. No. 3. P. 1629–1653.
Chebanova D., Poretskova A.

This article examines young people’s regional and political identities after relocating from four Russian regions to Central Russia’s megalopolises, exploring how these identities interact and how relocation contexts shape this process. Grounded in an interpretivist paradigm and using phenomenological analysis, the study analyses lived experiences through in-depth interviews, resulting in an empirical model of identity interaction. A key finding reveals how regional identity transposition activates political identity in specific contexts. This research contributes to social science by investigating a novel area and revealing mechanisms linking regional and political identities during youth migration. It offers practical implications for migration policy and regional cooperation by enhancing strategies for adapting migrants and strengthening local institutions to foster inclusivity and social integration in new spaces.

Household environmental management practices, community engagement, and self-reported malaria incidence in urban and rural communities of Malawi
Lungu M. M., Davitadze A., Frontiers in Public Health 2026 Vol. 14 Article 1919768
Malaria control in Malawi relies primarily on long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (LLITNs) and indoor residual spraying (IRS), but transmission remains heterogeneous across districts. Previous research indicates that community-based environmental management strategies, such as routine drainage maintenance, vegetation removal, and effective household waste disposal, may reduce environmental conditions conducive to malaria vector proliferation. Trotsuk I., Вестник Российского университета дружбы народов. Серия: Социология 2026 Т. 26 № 3 С. 801–815
The concept of empire seems quite transparent: from our school days, we learn to perceive the historical past through the chronological succession and life cycles of empires. In everyday interpretations, empire is something vast, powerful and wealthy in every sense of the word, which explains numerous metaphorical references to “empire” in marketing; dictionary definitions also lack precision. Given ...
