The 'Second Shift' Is Not Why Women Avoid News
Women are more likely than men to avoid political and economic news, but the reasons for this behaviour are linked less to structural inequality or family-related stress than to personal attitudes and the emotional perception of news content. This conclusion was reached by HSE researchers after analysing data from a large-scale survey of more than 10,000 residents across 61 regions of Russia. The study findings have been published in Woman in Russian Society.

О сложности процесса мирного перехода к многополярности и возможной стратегии России

Российский Совет по международным делам. 2025. № 17.06.2025.
Gaman-Golutvina O. V.

What is happening in world politics receives various interpretations in Russian and foreign academic discourse. Researchers are wondering what the outcome of this movement will be. Is the accumulation of new quality in the international system transformed into its radical renewal, or is it able to absorb changing realities, adapting to them and adapting the existing algorithms of its functioning? This is no accident - the subject of discussion is extremely complex, not only because of the probabilistic nature of social knowledge, but primarily because of the high rate and nonlinear nature of the transformation of the object of study itself. The world system and the order of its functioning did not just begin to move — it seems that the tectonic plates on which this system and this world order rested began to move. The range of possible versions of crises varies in a wide range — from developmental crises to terminal ones, marking the disappearance of the object itself. Therefore, forecasting the content, dynamics, and structure of the global system of power centers involves solving a number of heuristic tasks belonging to various subject fields, from determining the methodological foundations of analysis and research strategies to understanding the economic indicators of complex dynamics.

Девятников В. Ю., Социология власти 2025 Т. 37 № 4 С. 163–185
Redistricting is an important tool of political struggle, distinguished by several features that set it apart from other methods of creating a non-competitive electoral advantage: secrecy and non-provocativeness. These characteristics have led to significant scholarly attention, primarily focused on the political consequences of redistricting. However, the administrative and legal aspects of redistricting remain less studied, which may limit ...

Age is the most common basis for dividing society into “us” ...

There are some things that signify entire historical processes and eras. The Berlin Wall is perhaps the most glaring example. What could better symbolize the division of Europe and the world into two ideologically, militarily, and politically irreconcilable blocs? A massive, technologically advanced fortification, cutting through the soul of a leading city of the Old World. ...
