Аннотация. В статье рассмотрены некоторые теоретические проблемы, связанные с методическими подходами оценки величины потребного парка грузовых вагонов. Предложено уточнение формулы для определения величины потребного парка. Приведены данные о результатах ретроспективного расчёта по действующей и предлагаемой формулам для 2012-2024 г. Показано, что предлагаемая формула позволяет более корректно оценить потребность грузовладельцев в подвижном составе.
