The discussion on the problems of economic education in the journal “Voprosy ekonomiki” touched upon a number of important aspects. The world economy is undergoing serious changes, which makes it necessary to test stylized facts and validity of old theorems. Due to the aggravated national problems, there is an increasing need for industrial policy, and to solve global problems it is necessary to concentrate resources and coordinate their use. The panelists analyze the current state of economic education and propose competing agendas for improvement. The differences between administrators and researchers in the use of limited resources and in defining criteria for research and teaching success are important here.
