The publication is intended to give a humanitarian dimension to the process of mutual influence of science as a part of society and society as a whole. The authors focus on the influence of the scientific sphere on the life of all mankind, the impact of public demands on the development of the scientific sphere. Specialists from the world's leading scientific centers have combined their efforts to consider the process of social evolution in connection with the dynamics of scientific development, to analyze the answers that science gives to the most pressing questions asked of science by society. The proposed studies are aimed primarily at identifying the main models of interaction between science and society and developing a cautious forecast about the possible evolution of this interaction. For the scientific and educational community, employees of government agencies, all those interested in the past, present and future of mankind from a scientific point of view.
