Анализ подходов к интернационализации в российских вузах в контексте тенденций глобализации: задачи и условия повышения конкурентоспособности и развития экспортного потенциала
The article focuses on examination of the innovativeness as a factor which determines to a considerable degree the success of internationalisation in the educational sphere. It considers different approaches to the definition of concepts "innovation" and "innovativeness". Levels and kinds of the innovativeness are analyzed.
The presented monograph includes papers of the acknowledged Russian and foreign researchers and practitioners in internationalisation of higher education. It also presents analysis of current trends and practices of internationalisation at institutional and national levels. The monograph’s content reflects transformations of internationalisation as a key concept and process that shape discourse and practices in higher education systems. The authors hope that this book will contribute to enhancement of national higher education policy on development of the system and Russian HEIs. The monograph is recommended to researchers and experts in higher education policy and management, government officials, rectors and university managers responsible for internationalisation of higher education.
As we progress into the 21st century, the international dimension of higher education is becoming increasingly important and at the same time, much more complex. The changing dynamics of internationalization are contributing to the current state of turmoil in the higher education sector. (Knight 2012) During the last decade, there have been new actors, new rationales, new programs, new regulations, and new developments in globalization. Internationalization has become a formidable force for change, as the following developments and initiatives in higher education demonstrate.
As internationalization adapts to meet new challenges, it is important to examine the key concepts that inform and shape the internationalization process and sometimes result in unexpected developments and unanticipated results. The following discussion acknowledges the multiple and varied benefits attributed to internationalization, but the primary focus is on the unintended consequences that need to be addressed and monitored.
Modern urban performance depends not only on the city's endorsement of hard infrastructure (physical capital), but also on the availability and quality of knowledge communication and social infrastructure (intellectual capital and social capital). This is one of the clear reasons why the concept of Smart Cities recently attracted a great amount of attention, both from academia and city planners. One of the challenges of the Smart City concept is how to raise human capital among people, such as making them culturally sensitive, mobile and to improve other social characteristics. This challenge is especially valid for industrial cities that are facing economic turbulence and a demand for revitalizing their public spaces and economic specialties. The aim of this study is to examine the correlation between the amount of international students in Russian universities with the positive changes that occur in a Russian student’s human capital, and their neighbourhood areas, especially in public spaces. We aim to support the hypothesis that a network of “internationalized” universities serves as a revitalization measure for a city, facilitating the development of its surrounding areas, and reducing political and social risks within a society. Research methods for gathering data are: deductive trend search, which uses a literature review from leading academic journals and the empirical study based on the created questionnaire. This questionnaire forms a dataset which consists of a number of master courses held in English from one of the leading Russian universities based in Moscow. In this paper, we explain the research design and the results of a long-term project which we expect to complete in Russia in 2016.
The article presents results of the servey devoted to impacts of international staff members of the National Research University Higher School of Economics. It identifies the main directions of their activity and analyses their contribution to the university development. The servey highlights difficulties they face in their routine work as well as when they realize specific initiatives. It also presents the comparison of Russian and foreign practices of international faculty’s activities.
