The article discusses the main aspects of assessing readiness for the introduction of artificial intelligence into the public administration system. Assessment is considered as a tool for responding to emerging barriers and risks of a human- centered nature. The main risks are considered: the level of competence, the level and availability of specialized educational programs, readiness to study and use AI technologies and algorithms and big data. The paper formulates a conclusion about the need for a preventive assessment of readiness for the introduction of I-technologies, provides recommendations for assessing the level of readiness for the introduction and use of AI based on the author's evaluation index.
