The chapter examines the history of artificial intelligence (AI), its distinctive features and stages of development. The most common classifications of AI are given. The advantages of AI and its disadvantages, as well as the dangers and risks that it can pose to humans, are shown. The subjectivity of AI and its possible legal status are discussed. The scope of AI application in the field of law, including its use as a means of legal technique, is analyzed. Questions for self-control, text tasks and a list of references are given.
