Интеграция ИИ-компетенции в профессиональную подготовку преподавателя иностранных языков
The article examines the necessity of updating the content of foreign language (FL) teachers' professional training in light of the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and their increasing integration into education. Despite the fact that Russian universities are already incorporating courses related to the use of AI for professional purposes into their curricula, there is currently no unity in understanding the essence of an FL teacher’s AI competence. The authors of this article, drawing on contemporary research, specify the components of AI competence and correlate them with Bloom’s taxonomy of cognitive domains. The article puts forward the corresponding FL teachers’ behavioural indicators in the context of two primary areas of their professional activities involving the use of AI technologies. The first area, planning and execution of FL teaching, encompasses tasks related to the development of learning and assessment materials, lesson and course planning, assessment, and learning analytics. The second area, organising students’ work with AI, involves providing the necessary instruments and instructions, planning and monitoring their interactions, as well as fostering their understanding of ethical standards and academic integrity. The authors provide examples of tasks aimed at developing the AI competence of future FL teachers (analytical essay, methodological materials design and testing, and analysis of professional cases) and correlate them with the components of the competence that they are aimed at improving. This article may be relevant for both educators and designers of educational programmes who are seeking to integrate AI technologies into professional training.
