The changes caused by the consequences of globalization have raised the question of the relevance of one of the currently dominant paradigmatic approaches of R. Craig in the analysis of communication processes and communication interaction with society. Social communication theories have partially ceased to reflect the processes taking place in society. The current state of the communication field requires a new justification. The article attempts to analyse the current state of the scientific discourse of communicative theories and proposes the principle of classification of communicative theories. The development of integrated communications transformed the socio-cultural environment at the level of a specific individual, which led to the need for a new methodological understanding of communication processes in society.
