Билингвизм в оригинальной и переводной поэзии Н. Скандиаки
Критика и семиотика. 2015. № 1. С. 340–349.

The article focuses on of Nika Skandiaka’s bilingualism as detected in her original poetry. One of the traits of Skandiaka’s individual style is fusion of strategies: those of a bilingual poet and of a poetic translator. There are some differences between these strategies, for a translator has to do not only with two languages, but also with crucial differences between them, which become especially noticeable in the course of translation. In some her original poems Skandiaka detects some differences of that kind, referring to different levels of the language, when she supplies an English phrase (or separate words) with several versions of “translation”. Potential resources of Russian are activated, as typical for language of poetic translations.
Poetic translator is, for one thing, a poet, and for the other thing – a linguist, an investigator of both languages (that of the origin and that of the translation). In Skandiaka’s poetic translations this trend is fully realized.

Впервые делается попытка рассмотреть особенности фанфикшн как акта продуктивной рецепции, возникшего на основе цикла романов Терри Пратчетта о Плоском мире в России. Проведенный анализ показывает, что прежде всего авторы фанфиков стремятся передать стилистику и комическое начало оригинального цикла Пратчетта, вне зависимости от жанра и формата создаваемых ими произведений. Фикрайтеры наиболее часто обращаются к таким форматам, ...

It proposes and substantiates the hypothesis that the degree of lexical mixing in such languages — reflected in the prevalence of doublets and the distribution of vocabulary between source languages — is linked to the specific pattern of their emergence, rather than ...

Новеллы должны были стать частью цикла о коллективизации под общим названием «Великая Криница», однако замысел книги о преобразованиях в советской деревне оказался невоплощенным. Existing research indicates involvement of brain systems underpinning spatial abilities in processing emotive semantics in L1: positive emotions are associated with the right part of space, negative ones with the left. Some suggest similar sensorimotor activations in L1 and L2. Others indicate attenuated processing of L2 emotional words. Aims: We investigated differences in sensorimotor biases ...

Models of experience-dependent neuroplasticity predict that the acquisition and extensive use of a new skill trigger a nonlinear trajectory of neurostructural modifications, where initial expansion of relevant brain areas subsequently (once the skill is acquired) gives way to volumetric renormalization. Such predictions also apply in the domain of language during learning and/or simultaneous management of ...
