Сети Михаила Кузмина: сетевой анализ кузминского круга 1920–1930-х годов

The article analyzes the phenomenon of Mikhail Kuzmin’s circle as a historical and cultural community that included many literary and artistic figures: Anna Radlova and Sergey Radlov, Konstantin Vaginov, Aleksander Vvedensky and Daniil Kharms, Dmitry Mitrokhin, Benedict Livshits, Lev Rakov, etc. It suggests that Kuzmin’s circle should be viewed as a community bound by artistic, rather than social ties. The method of network modeling (graph modeling) is employed in the analysis of these relationships. All the encounters were manually extracted from Kuzmin’s 1921–1927 diaries, organized, and visualized using the Gephi software. The resulting metrics and networks were used to trace the emerging tendencies and internal dynamics of Kuzmin’s circle, to identify strong and weak ties, and to determine the «core» of this community in various years. The data obtained adds to the existing understanding of Kuzmin’s circle, while until now the term has been used descriptively, and expands the knowledge concerning the informal centers and covert processes in Leningrad literary life of the 1920s–1930s.
