Mutations du capitalism et institutionnalisation de la corruption dans la Russie contemporaine

Revie internationale de politique comparee. 2013. Vol. 20. No. 3. P. 41-63.

The article analyzes corruption in Russia and establishes a parallel between its changing nature and the evolution of the market economy model. The transition away from the oligarchic model of the 1990s and the emergence during the 2000s of state-driven corporatist capitalism have resulted in a deep transformation of relations between power politics and business. The rejection of the oligarchic model and the endorsement of state-driven corporatist capitalism has not affected the depth of corruption as much as its forms of expression. The article reviews the roots of such corruption in post-soviet Russia, along with the statistical and structural characteristics of the related transformations.
