Женская предпринимательская деятельность в Японии во второй половине XX в.
The article considers the history of formation and development of women’s entrepreneurial activity in Japan in the second half of the 20th century. The author draws a parallel between global socio-economic processes and their influence on Japanese society in terms of the development of women’s entrepreneurship in the country. In addition, the author raises the issue of traditional employment institutions in Japan, as well as details the specifics of gender and social roles in their influence on women’s interest in business. The author also considers the image of the Japanese businesswoman and her characteristics, which made a significant impact on the trajectories and scope of women’s companies. In addition, key trends that emerged in the female entrepreneurial environment in Japan in the last century, such as “female leadership”, “mompreneurs” and the challenge of gender inequality in business, were identified. The author has identified changes in the underlying motivations for entrepreneurship among Japanese women, as well as the impact of the above trends on the current state of women’s business in the country.
