The article is devoted to the question of the sources for the first part (before 1255) of the Chronicle of 1518. Chronicle of 1518 was reflected in the Tver Chronicle and the Lvov Chronicle. In literature, since the works of A. A. Shakhmatov at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries, there was a strong opinion that one of the main sources of the code of 1518 was, along with the text of the First Sofia Chronicle, a chronicle text close to the Radziwill and Moscow Academic copies. The article shows that from the beginning of the chronicle narrative to the article of 983, the text of the Trinity Chronicle was reflected in the Tver Chronicle and the Lvov Chronicle, along with the Sofia First Chronicle.
