Аннотация: The case was prepared for undergraduate students of the Bachelor’s degree in Management and serves to develop the logic of decision-making for the strategic tasks of the company. The main goal of the case is to understand and be able to apply the technology of making strategic decisions when a company enters new markets. Students are presented with a situation of a company (innovation studio, electronic payment system) entering a new market. The factors to be taken into account include not only the market capacity and potential for growth, but also the business distance in various parameters, in particular — socio-cultural factors, as well as the strategic vision of the top management. Particular attention can be paid to the lack of one-man management in the company, the need to link the tasks of the division and the position of the headquarters. In addition, the purpose of the discussion, with the obvious two options (short-term vs. long-term projects) may be to reach compromise solutions, which will allow students to understand the importance of a fl exible approach to decision-making and the need to analyse the situation and make unique decisions.
