Russian Foreign Policy – Risky Successes
Russian foreign policy is undergoing an almost constant dynamic transformation. From the confrontation of the Cold War it plunged into an attempt to integrate with the West. A continuous disregard of Russia’s security concerns and numerous illegitimate West-led interventions failed this eagerness. Then Russia is basing its policy on the assumption that the new world is dangerously unpredictable. That is why and also due to relative economic weakness it puts more emphasis on hard power. However, Russian foreign policy has yet to find a new balance if that is possible in a highly volatile world.
