BIO Web of Conferences: Volume 107:19th International Conference Water and Wastewater: Transportation, Treatment, Management “Yakovlev Readings” (YRC-2024)
The conference in the field of water supply and sanitation "Yakovlev Readings", dedicated to the memory of Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergei Yakovlev, is held annually at MGSU in mid-March. In 2024, the conference will be held for the 19th time.
Sergey Yakovlev made a huge contribution to the development of physicochemical and biochemical methods for the purification of natural and waste waters, water supply and sewerage systems for industrial purposes.
He developed the theoretical foundations for the treatment of natural and waste water and the design of treatment facilities, which are introduced into the practice of design and construction in our country. He created high-load biofilters, biofilters with plastic loading, aeration tanks with regeneration of activated sludge using technical oxygen, a method of aerobic stabilization of activated sludge, an electrocoagulation method, a method of biochemical reduction of chromates and bioreagents, etc.
"Yakovlev readings", which have become a good tradition for the university, are always actively attended by students and graduate students, representatives of the academic community and scientific organizations, specialists in the field of construction and housing and communal services of the industry.
Among industry experts, the "Yakovlev Readings" have a reputation as an important discussion platform for discussing the most pressing issues and problems of water supply and sanitation:
- Aspects of water and wastewater transportation
- New materials in water supply and sewage
- Advances in water purification
- Wastewater treatment and reuse
- Water management
