Онлайн-грамотность россиян в вопросах информации о здоровье: психометрические свойства русскоязычной версии eHEALS
The online environment is the main source of health information in the modern world of a wide range of digital technologies. The aim of this study was twofold and assumed, firstly, the adaptation of the Russianversion of the eHealth Literacy Scale (eHEALS), and secondly, the analysis of the relationship between eHEALS scores and critical thinking and the phenomena of the cyber environment (doomscrolling, cyberchondria and dependence on social networks) among Russians. The participants were 1,025 Russians. In addition to eHEALS, the toolkit included the following questionnaires: the Doomscrolling Scale, the Cyberchondria Severity Scale, the Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale and the Inquiring Mode Questionnaire. The results of data factorization revealed a one-factor structure of the questionnaire, and the high values of the Cronbach’sα coefficient (α = 0.929) and the MacDonald’s ω (ω = 0.930) confirmed the internal consistency of the adapted scale. The total eHEAL Sscore was positively correlated with the general health index, doomscrolling, cyberchondria, dependence on social networks and analytical thinking style, as well as negatively correlated with synthetic and idealistic thinking styles. Online literacy in health information was related to the female sex, but did not depend on the age of the respondents. Residents of Moscow and other megacities had higher scores of online literacy in matters of health information than residents of regional and district centers. The psychometric analysis of the Russian version of the eHEALS confirmed its psychometric soundness.
