The study is devoted to studying the issues and demand for skills and competencies in the field of sustainable development (SD). The characteristics of general and special (professional) competencies in the field of SD are presented. The results of an experiment on the implementation of the live case study approach in teaching the discipline “Financial and Management Accounting” for students of the “Business Administration” in order to develop their sustainable competencies are described.
