The deep uncertainty associated with the covid-19 pandemic and other catastrophic events has put humanity in a situation of realizing the fragility of its existence. Research shows that fear of death is associated with negative self-talk in people early in the coronavirus pandemic (Damirchi et al., 2020), and overcoming the fear of death is possible, in particular, through self-compassion, understood as maintaining a dialogue with oneself (Haldorai et al., 2023). The latest ideas are actively used in the practical recommendations of psychologists who call for working with the flow of thoughts using various self-regulation techniques.
