Первый опыт мобилизации: созыв земского войска в 1806–1807 гг. и его роль для сбора земского ополчения 1812 г.
The article examines the experience of creating “zemskoe voisko”, or militia, in 1806-1807 and its importance for the organisation of the People's militia in 1812. Militia became Russia's first response to new challenges of the epoch including mass war threats, an attempt to effectively mobilize human and material resources. The first militia took form of a class-based national mobilisation, which better correlated with Russian realities and predetermined militia's peculiarities and its role for the Russian society. Supplies of militia-men and collection of donations have been explored on the example of district towns of St. Petersburg province. A comparison with 1812 militia and mobilisation measures available in Western Europe is offered.
