К истории службы нижних чинов: обстоятельства увольнения, возвращения, награждения ополченцев и призрения инвалидов в 1814–1815 гг. (на материалах Санкт-Петербургской губернии)
The article examines the service of militiamen who entered in 1812 from the towns of the St. Petersburg province, focusing on the circumstances of their dismissal from the service of the rank and file in 1814-1815. The mechanism of dismissal are examined in detail. Based on the sources, coming from local council archives where the documents of the returned men were preserved, files of the Provincial Militia Committee, as well as calculations of the Ministry of War, the article explores, by way of several examples, how the men were returned to their towns in an organised manner, accompanied by the officers, police bailiffs, or officials. The awarding of militiamen with silver medals in memory of the war of 1812 is also studied. Lastly, an important topic is touched upon: the provision of care for militiamen who had been maimed during their service. Several instances of militiamen are analysed, who upon a medical examination were classified as “disabled” of the second category, according to the decree of the 1815. Lastly, a comprehensive table of the militiamen is given.
