Scientists Develop Algorithm for More Reliable Processors in Data Centres
Researchers from HSE MIEM and Samara University have developed the LRF-3D algorithm to automatically bypass idle nodes in three-dimensional networks-on-chip. Thanks to its hierarchical architecture, the algorithm outperforms existing solutions in both speed and path accuracy, improving processor reliability for use in data centres, supercomputers, and AI computing. The source code and test results are publicly available.

Researchers Develop Method for Direct Generation of Regulatory DNA
Researchers at HSE University have developed a model for generating promoters and enhancers—DNA sequences that regulate gene activity. The model works directly with DNA nucleotides, without first transforming them into a continuous numerical representation. This solution could be useful for applications in synthetic biology and gene therapy. The study results were presented at the ICLR 2026 Workshop ‘Generative AI in Genomics (Gen^2): Barriers and Frontiers.’

The 2014 Ukraine Coup and the Demonization of Russia

P. 225–247.
Baysha O.

As is evident from statistical data, a worldwide collapse of positive attitudes toward Russia occurred in 2014—the year Russia annexed Crimea and supported rebels in eastern Ukraine who allegedly shot down the passenger plane MH17 using the Russian Buk missile system. As this chapter argues, an understanding of what happened in Ukraine in 2013–14 and how the complexity of the Ukrainian crisis of that time has been simplified and distorted in political and media representations is crucial for understanding not only the change in global public opinion after 2014 but also the Russia-Ukraine war of 2022. The chapter discusses the complexities of the Ukrainian situation in 2013–14, the simplified and distorted representation of the situation in the global hegemonic discourse of civilizational advance, the frame of reference for the ongoing war of 2022 presented in the speeches of Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, and the ruinous implications for global peace of the simplistic “evil them vs. good us” dichotomy.
