Транскультурный подход в рамках межкультурной парадигмы лингвообразования
This article discusses the paradigmatic foundations of a methodological category "transcultural approach" to teaching English as an International language in the framework of intercultural paradigm in foreign language pedagogy. The author elaborates on the geopolitical and linguistic prerequisites for the emergence of transcultural approach to language teaching and learning, as well as examines the essence of the concepts "translingualism" and "transculturalism" and evaluates their impact on the reassessment of present day goal setting in teaching methodology: from teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) to teaching English as an International Language (EIL) that is based on the principle of pragmatic acceptability. The author analyses the key provisions of transcultural approach to teaching EIL: mission, goal, principles, and teaching strategy.
