Immunity to Chaos: How Personal Resources Help Us Cope with the Challenges of a Turbulent World
International conflicts, crises and digital overload—the modern world puts our minds to the test every day. Traditional psychology often focuses on the consequences: anxiety, depression, and psychosomatic disorders. But what if we looked at the problem differently—through the lens of the resources that prevent us from breaking down? Psychological immunity is precisely this set of resources. Alena Zolotareva and her group, Psychological Immunity as a Resource for Positive Functioning, are developing an integrative model of this phenomenon, adapting diagnostic tools and preparing for large-scale empirical research. Why do psychologists need to collaborate with medical professionals, and how could their research transform preventive care in clinics and corporations?

‘Balkan Hospitality Opens Doors: Studying Dialects on the Verge of Extinction
You cannot study spoken dialects from books. Instead, you need to go to a village, seek out its elders, and earn the trust of local residents before you can record hours of spontaneous stories. This is how Natalia Muravleva, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities, conducts her research. Her internship in Serbia continued her long-standing study of dialects spoken by Macedonian settlers. In this interview, she discusses how diaspora cultural centres help researchers reach informants, why native speakers need to be interviewed only in their own language (otherwise, as she puts it, they may 'break'), and how a single field season helped her finalise her monograph. She also shares warm memories of autumn in Belgrade and of colleagues with whom grammar can be discussed in three languages at once.

Current Issues in International Entrepreneurship

Northampton : Edward Elgar Publishing, 2013.
Academic editor: H. Etemad, T. K. Madsen, E. Rasmussen, P. Servais

The young field of international entrepreneurship is rapidly expanding in scope and complexity, as increasingly more companies across the world compete to gain a larger global market share and attract consumers both at home and abroad. This book, the fifth volume in the McGill International Entrepreneurship series, brings together 29 scholars and practitioners to explore the contemporary issues, evolving relations and dynamic forces that are shaping the new emerging entrepreneurial system in international markets. It examines entrepreneurial efforts and relations in many firms embedded in and constrained by different national and corporate cultures of their own and offers expert recommendations for further research, better managerial practice and more effective public policy approaches.

Internationalization of SMEs from Transition Economies: Institutional Perspectives
Shirokova G., Цуканова Т., , in: Current Issues in International Entrepreneurship.: Northampton: Edward Elgar Publishing, 2013. P. 174–198.
Internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) has been actively studied in terms of international entrepreneurship since the 1990s (Coviello and McAuley, 1999; De Clercq, et al., 2005; Cieslik and Kaciak, 2009). The key assumption for understanding internationalization is as follows: in comparison with large companies the probability of SMEs’ internationalization is much lower because ...

Повестка устойчивого развития после 2030 года: возможные развилки
Makarov I. A., Россия в глобальной политике 2026 Т. 24 № 4 (140) С. 164–182

2026 Vol. 17 No. 4 P. 66–78

When green is not attractive: energy transition, capital inflows, and environmental outcomes in BRICS economies
Kilinc-Ata N., Warong M. M., SN Business & Economics 2026 Vol. 6 Article 326(2026)
Green transitions are widely expected to attract cleaner capital and accelerate decarbonization; however, emerging-economy evidence increasingly challenges this assumption. This study examines the dynamic relationship between energy transition indicators and capital inflows in BRICS+ economies over the period 1996–2022, explicitly testing the “Green Haven” hypothesis under conditions of global uncertainty. Unlike much of the existing ...

Using Autoregressive Distributed Lag and Markov Switching models, the research shows that start-up formation coincides with periods of lower GDP growth, suggesting that innovation is often spurred by necessity. Two ...

Drawing upon network theory and institutional theory, this paper examines the influence of networks on the internationalization of Russian entrepreneurial firms. Our case analysis suggests that within the context of the Russian environment, networks play a much less important role in the internationalization process than it is usually assumed in the literature. For the Russian ...

Jie S., Harms R., Groen A. et al., Journal of Small Business Management 2023 Vol. 61 No. 3 P. 1143–1173
International-entrepreneurship researchers use a capability-based perspective to analyze the international performance of early-internationalizing firms. More than 300 papers seem to address the role of capabilities in international performance. The purpose of this study is to structure this literature and provide an orientation for researchers. First, we develop a capability-categorization model. Second, we use this model ...
