What does it mean to substantively address the “teacher-student contradiction?” – In critiquing the traditional one directional flow of information from teachers to students, Freire believes in a liberating education based on vulnerability, reciprocity, and mutual recognition of teacher and student as equal learning partners in co-constructing a more just world. Freire writes about a key concept of praxis: the interplay between critical reflection and critical action as an iterative process.
