Immunity to Chaos: How Personal Resources Help Us Cope with the Challenges of a Turbulent World
International conflicts, crises and digital overload—the modern world puts our minds to the test every day. Traditional psychology often focuses on the consequences: anxiety, depression, and psychosomatic disorders. But what if we looked at the problem differently—through the lens of the resources that prevent us from breaking down? Psychological immunity is precisely this set of resources. Alena Zolotareva and her group, Psychological Immunity as a Resource for Positive Functioning, are developing an integrative model of this phenomenon, adapting diagnostic tools and preparing for large-scale empirical research. Why do psychologists need to collaborate with medical professionals, and how could their research transform preventive care in clinics and corporations?

‘Balkan Hospitality Opens Doors: Studying Dialects on the Verge of Extinction
You cannot study spoken dialects from books. Instead, you need to go to a village, seek out its elders, and earn the trust of local residents before you can record hours of spontaneous stories. This is how Natalia Muravleva, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities, conducts her research. Her internship in Serbia continued her long-standing study of dialects spoken by Macedonian settlers. In this interview, she discusses how diaspora cultural centres help researchers reach informants, why native speakers need to be interviewed only in their own language (otherwise, as she puts it, they may 'break'), and how a single field season helped her finalise her monograph. She also shares warm memories of autumn in Belgrade and of colleagues with whom grammar can be discussed in three languages at once.

«Десятичастное наставление» 訓要十條 (Хунё cипчо, 942 г.?): комментированный перевод

Восток. Афро-азиатские общества: история и современность. 2023. № 1. С. 242–258.
Chesnokova N., Колнин И. С., Глазунова В. В.

The article focuses on the “Ten Injunctions” (Hunyo sipcho, 942?), a famous Korean document that dates back to the early Koryŏ period (918–1392) and most likely belongs to Wang Kŏn (T’aejo, 877–943), the founder of Koryŏ kingdom. This article, for the first time in Russian Korean studies, introduces a reader to a commented translation of the “Ten Injunctions”. The “Ten Injunctions” is mentioned in Korean historical chronicles, namely the “History of Koryŏ” (Koryŏsa, 1451) and the “Essentials of Koryŏ History” (Koryŏsa chŏryo, 1452). It was written in Hanmun – a Korean form of classical Chinese, and as our research shows, it was in form of traditional Chinese imperial writings. The “Ten Injunctions” document consists of two parts. The first one is an Introduction that explains the reasons stood behind the completion of the document, and the second one is the main text with the prescribed ten injunctions. The origin of the “Ten Injunctions” is still under discussion because most of the Koryŏ historical documents were destroyed in Khitan invasion in 1011: although most of the scholars are sure that the text belongs to Wang Kŏn, recently there have been a number of suggestions that the text belongs to Wang Kŏn’s grandson or even to a palace scholar of the 11 th century. The “Ten Injunctions” document has never yet been translated into Russian, nor have ever been a study on its contents, so this paper seeks to fill this gap and to introduce the document to the Russian Korean studies.

Vague stimulating ideas, images and metaphors in scientific thinking: researchers' work with horizons of unclear knowledge
Poddiakov A., / Series Social Science Research Network "Social Science Research Network". 2026. No. 7437658.
Clarity of knowledge and reasoning is necessary in many cases. Yet vagueness in scientific thinking related to surprise, curiosity, "ability to engage with not-knowing" (de Freitas) and abductive reasoning is also a crucially important source of scientific creativity which supplements combinatorial logic when dealing with the already known. Starting from studies by C. S. Peirce ...

Previous EEG studies demonstrated ample evidence for a major influence of morphological regularity on inflectional processing. However, regularity effects may be attributed to different properties of inflectional classes: to type frequency, to productivity, or to defaultness (assumed only in some models). In many languages, these factors cannot be teased apart, but it is possible in ...
