Пространства города и дома в "Трагедии Ореста" Драконция
“Orestis Tragoedia” is one of the works of Dracontius, a poet of the second half of the 5th century, who addressed both pagan and Christian themes. This work is traditionally regarded as a not too talented synthesis of the existing versions of the tragedies about Orestes with the addition of stylistic embellishments from the works of Ovid, Lucan, Statius, Juvenal, Virgil and other authors. In this work, Dracontius not only combines different mythological stories about Orestes and his growing up, but also highlights, compares, and often contrasts the city spaces and the house spaces, where the key events of the tragedy take place. Thus, it sets a special grid of spatial coordinates, which have not yet attracted the attention of researchers. Dracontius’ protagonist returns to the house where his father Agamemnon was murdered. Having committed a series of crimes, on the one hand, Orestes becomes part of the tragic line of the house of Atreus, and on the other hand, he does not fit into the existing ideas in the city about who can be called an empowered representative of this house. Dracontius builds the storyline in such a way that his Orestes move freely between Mycenae, Athens and Tauris. This is not only a dramatic device that indicates his rushing nature, but also a kind of answer that Dracontius gives to the question: what exactly is the tragedy of Orestes?
