HSE Scientists Train Neural Network to 'Hear' Faults in Electric Motors
Researchers at the AI and Digital Science Institute of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science have developed a new method—the Signature-Guided Data Augmentation (SGDA) framework—that achieves 99% accuracy in motor fault detection and 86% accuracy in fault classification. The application of this approach can reduce industrial equipment repair costs, minimise downtime, and improve production safety. The study results have been published in Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence.

Is It Possible to Predict a Citys Life Based on the Shape of Its Neighbourhoods?
Is it possible to predict, based on the configuration of streets and buildings, where a café will open or where traffic congestion will occur? Participants in the Spatial Analysis and Modelling of Urban Processes research and study group use open data and machine learning to identify universal patterns. Alexander Sheludkov and Eduard Somov discuss the purpose of comparing cities, the need for new forms of urban statistics, and how open data is transforming approaches to urban studies.

Optimal Control of Car Active Suspension Control under Delays
Semion A., Presnova A., , in: 16th International Conference on Stability and Oscillations of Nonlinear Control Systems (Pyatnitskiy's Conference) (STAB).: IEEE, 2022. Ch. 60 P. 1–4.
In this paper algorithm of control synthesis for car active suspension with delays is examined. The problem is formulated in terms of differential games. External perturbation such as road surface unevenness is considered as actions of some opponent. The commonly known model of quarter car active suspension system will be expanded with delays under 0.5s ...

Alexey E. Golubev, , in: 16th International Conference on Stability and Oscillations of Nonlinear Control Systems (Pyatnitskiy's Conference) (STAB).: IEEE, 2022. P. 1–3.
A mathematical model of cerebral blood flow in the form of a dynamical system is considered. The cerebral blood flow regulation problem is treated as a control problem. A nonlinear dynamics inversion based approach is applied to construct the relevant control laws which should help us understand the mathematics behind the cerebral blood flow autoregulation mechanism ...

Electrical networks and data analysis in phylogenetics
Gorbounov Vassily, Kazakov A., Data Analytics and Topology 2025 Vol. 1 No. 1 P. 33–45
A classic problem in data analysis is studying the systems of subsets defined by either a similarity or a dissimilarity function on X which is either observed directly or derived from a data set. For an electrical network there are two functions on the set of the nodes defined by the resistance matrix and the response ...

Resonators based on nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) using two-dimensional (2D) materials with high-quality factors and excellent electrical control are critical for tunable coherent phonon dynamics, resonant sensors and wireless communications. However, their performance is fundamentally limited by the lack of a unified framework governing energy dissipation mechanisms and their electrical tunability. Here, we synergistically modulate both ...

This paper examines echo state networks (ESNs), one of the most prevalent approaches to implementing reservoir computing. An ESN consists of a recurrent neural network with fixed (untrained) weights and a readout layer that is typically linear and trainable. This approach enables the creation of energyefficient and computationally efficient neural networks capable of real-time learning. However, since ...

Stable On-the-Fly Learning for Dynamic Neural Networks With Delayed Inputs
Chertopolokhov V., Mukhamedov A., Bugriy G. et al., IEEE Access 2026 Vol. 14 P. 14369–14392
This study presents on-the-fly identification and multi-step prediction of nonlinear systems with delayed inputs using a dynamic neural network combined with a smooth projection onto ellipsoids. The projection enforces parameter constraints that guarantee stability, while a Lyapunov–Krasovskii analysis yields computable ultimate error bounds. Riccati-type matrix inequalities are derived, providing an efficient vectorization–projection–devectorization implementation suitable for ...

Analysis of the alternating minimization method for low-rank canonical polyadic decomposition in the Chebyshev norm
Морозов С. В., Calcolo 2026 Vol. 63 No. 2 Article 23
The approximation of tensors in a low-para metric format is a crucial component in many mathematical modelling and data analysis tasks. Among the widely used low-parametric representations, the canonical polyadic (CP) decomposition is known to be very efficient. Nowadays, most algorithms for CP approximation aim to construct the approximation in the Frobenius norm; however, some ...

A method based on cubic spline interpolation is proposed for approximating the operator on a non-uniform grid. The convergence rate of the proposed method is proven, and its stability is analyzed. Error bounds are established for functions in ...

Буланова И. С., Dvoinin A., Двойнина В. К., Современная зарубежная психология 2025 Т. 14 № 1 С. 103–113
Recently, the concept of resilience has become very popular in psychological science, which in Russian-language psychology is translated as “zhiznesposobnost” [“viability”] or “ustoichivost” [“stability”]. Despite the fact that this concept has firmly entered the conceptual framework of psychological science, there is still no consensus among researchers on its definition and theoretical load. In the scientific ...

Polybenzimidazoles (PBI) doped with phosphoric acid are a promising electrolyte for medium-temperature fuel cells. However, to be effective at high temperatures in the presence of acid, the mechanical and conductive properties of the material must be stable and no critical increase in gas permeability is required. This work proposes an approach to improve the properties ...
