The formation and measurement of integral indicators of the well-being of the population remain insufficiently studied topics in the economic literature. This research topic is especially relevant for Russian regions with a high level of differentiation in the level of economic development and the well-being of the population. The authors propose an original method for measuring the integral index of the well-being of the population in the regional economy, taking into account the subjective factors of the well-being of the population and the objective factors associated with its condition, economic activity and relevant state policy. The methodology has been tested on the example of Russian regions. It was found that economic activity in the regions is more significant for the integral well-being of thepopulation than the quality of human capital
