(Потенциально) прецедентные феномены в рэп-баттлах
The article deals with the use of precedent phenomena in the genre of rap battle. The paper aims to reveal the specific features of the functioning of precedent phenomena within the communicative strategies of self-presentation and discredit as well as to characterise the precedent potential of the elements of rap discourse. The battles under consideration were chosen according to their popularity and involved such renowned Russian-speaking rappers as Oxxxymiron, Slava KPSS, ST и Johnyboy. The intent-analysis of the battles revealed that the participants tend to alternate between various tactics. Precedent phenomena are mostly used by the rappers to characterise themselves, indicate the reference group and express mockery and negate pretensions. A survey was done in order to determine whether socially precedent names and potentially precedent utterances match the criteria of precedence: common knowledge (recognisability and repeatability), reference to the source text and unambiguous interpretation. According to the results, a significant part of the informants managed to recognised the items and their sources, filled the gaps in them and identified their meaning correctly. The respondents also expressed readiness to use potentially precedent utterances, especially their transformed versions, in their own speech, mainly in various situations of informal communication. It is concluded that the active use of precedent phenomena in the rap discourse as well as the appearance of potentially precedent phenomena testify to the considerable impact of the rap battles on the Russian linguoculture.
