In Germany, after a year of political calm, exacerbated by COVID-19, 2021 will be a political super-year. If in 2020 there were no elections in Germany at any level of government (even the congress of the CDU party, at which the new chairman of the Christian Democrats was elected, was postponed to January 2021), then in 2021 elections to the parliaments of six federal Lands, as well as elections to the Bundestag, following which a new Federal Chancellor will be elected after A. Merkel's sixteen-year rule.
