Рентгенофлуоресцентное картирование элементного состава и технология изготовления римской фигурной гири из святилища Эклизи-Бурун в Горном Крыму

The article publishes the results of X-ray fluorescence mapping of the alloy composition of a figured hanging weight from the Roman "fast" scales in the form of a male bust. The weight was found at the Eklizi-Burun sanctuary (southern part of the Mountainous Crimea). The figured shell of the weight is cast from high-tin bronze, which differs in tin content in different areas of the sculpture. It was possible to reveal an abnormally high content of tin (more than 35.6%) in the area on ​​the front of the bust. The inner cavity is completely or partially filled with heavier lead, the splashes of which onto the surface were recorded using point-by-point X-ray analysis. The figured weight from the Eklizi-Burun sanctuary is probably evidence of one of the "early" cases, when the population of the Northern Black Sea region becoming familiar with relatively complex devices ("fast" scales) and technologies (casting on a lost wax model with a lead core) developed in the Roman Empire.
