This paper focuses on the construct of the "life goal" from the preliminary reconstruction of A.N. Leontiev's theory of personality. It proposes the life goal as an analogue of the meaning of life. The position of the life goal in personality structure and its role in personality development are described. The criterion of distinguishing crisis of personality development from personality dynamics of another kind is presented.
