"Город-понарошку": идеи ситуационизма в контексте геолокационных игр
Several years ago, researchers of relations between the city and the media were faced with the task of overcoming the exclusively negative view of the mediatization of the urban environment inherent in the representatives of neo-Marxist and postmodern social theory (J. Baudrillard, Guy Debord, M. Augé, E. Soja, etc.) namely, the themes of the disappearance of public places, the end of city memory and the “atomization” of city dwellers in the context of modern media technologies. Currently, the problem of overcoming the overly optimistic optics of a new generation of researchers and the development of a more accurate language for describing the processes of interaction with the city through the media seems to be urgent. The advent of web 2.0, which made it possible to create user-generated content about specific locations, real-time navigation and instant citizen coordination, has been seen by many theorists as an opportunity to revitalize and reimagine a city. The context of the discussion about mobile technologies in the city coincided with the “spatial turn” in social research, which occurred simultaneously with the “turn towards media” in modern geography and the “game turn” in cultural and media research.
