Геополитические и лингвистические предпосылки развития транскультурного подхода в лингводидактике

The purpose of the article is to discuss foundations of transcultural approach in modern pedagogy, mainly cultural and linguistic glocalization that determined the emergence of the World Englishes Paradigm. The author examines the way current geopolitical and linguistic tendencies could be implemented in ELT with the help of transcultural approach. The paper presents distinctive features of transcultural approach as opposed to intercultural approach to ELT as well as identifies its role in a methodological framework.
