This paper outlines the influence made by the notable figures of XX century Italian culture on the formation and development of the Fascist regime in Italy. Gabriele D’Annunzio and the founder of the Futurist movement Filippo Tommaso Marinetti provide a striking example of an influence made by a poet on politics.

 Lots of ideas and aesthetical findings suggested by Gabriele D’Annunzio made impact on the formation of Fascist doctrine (“La Carta del Carnaro”, the constitution of the city-state of Fiume, provides enough evidence) and influenced Benito Mussolini’s personal style.

The paper also aims to demonstrate the intellectual contribution to the Fascist doctrine made by the co-author of the “Fascist Manifesto” Filippo Marinetti.
