This article attempts to analyze the investment climate and investment policy of the Vladimir region. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that the Vladimir region is characterized by an unfavorable investment climate. The areas of innovation and infrastructure, as well as tourism, can become the engine of its investment potential. However, these areas are not given priority by the administration of the region, the priority areas are agriculture, construction and industries related to the extraction and processing of natural resources. In addition, micro and small businesses predominate in the Vladimir region. Accordingly, the regional authorities should focus their investment policy on their development, and not on attracting large investors. Mechanisms that can help attract investors should be aimed at expanding tax incentives, listing eligible investors, and improving infrastructure conditions for investment projects.
