The report is devoted to a comparative quantitative study of the significance of democratic values in the political consciousness of the population of post-socialist countries, as well as those individual (socio-demographic characteristics) and country (type of political regime, economic well-being) factors that can positively or negatively affect the generalized value of democracy and its constituent elements. The speaker examines the degree of commitment to democratic values of residents of 29 post-socialist countries of the third wave of democratization in the context of the existing wave of "authoritarian populism". The degree of commitment to democracy in Russian Federation is compared with other countries participating in the study. The work is based on data from mass surveys of the third wave of the project "Life in Transition Survey" (LITS) for 2016
