The article deals with migration issues in the border regions of Siberia and the Far East. It was found that the main factor in the decline in the population in these regions was the domestic migration outflow of the population, mainly to the central and southern regions of Russia. It was revealed that international labor migration as a whole has a positive impact on the economy of the border regions. Based on the system of statistical indicators, the index of migration attractiveness of the border regions of Siberia and the Far East was calculated. According to the migration statistics, indices of migration substitution depth were calculated in the regions under consideration.
