The article investigates the active resistance towards the implementation of environmental innovations in a branch of a large Russian oil and gas company. Within the research, both qualitative and quantitative methods are applied: in-depth interview and author’s questionnaire, developed on the basis of the concept of psychological relations by Poznyakov. The types of attitudes toward the concept of sustainable development are detached by the means of cluster analysis. Overall, 161 managers participated in the survey. «Declarative», «positive» and «negative» types of attitudes towards the concept of sustainable development are empirically identified and described.
