Discusses the value of family for young rosssiyan in the conditions of transformation of the family institution in Russia. Desirable family model changes with the change of social relations. The transformation of the family institution due to the change of value orientations in achieving personal success is measured by economic values, leads to the formation of appropriate system of values among the younger generation, the desired family model – having few children, perhaps childless, the creation of which is postponed "for later", to achieve social maturity, not necessarily based on registered marriage, allowing the change of the marriage partner. The problem of forming family values among the youth is reflected to legislative initiatives and policy documents of recent years.
