The presence of intergenerational differences in the level of privacy in a social network is studied in this research work.
The study involved 188 participants (14-82 years aged group) with different occupation and level of education.
The following characteristics were measured: the level of privacy practiced by respondents of three different generations in social network sites and real life towards their friends and strangers.
The main results. It has been confirmed that there are some differences in the level of privacy in real life and in social network sites among members of different generations in relation to different categories of people. It has been discovered that there exists a relationship between the level of privacy of a person in real life and the privacy-level in social network sites.
