Kervaire Problems in Stable Homotopy Theory
Ch. 12. P. 189–236.
Akhmetiev Petr M.
The Kervaire Problem in Stable Homotopy Theory is a problem to classify framed immersions with Arf-invariant one. The first interesting example is in dimension 30. There exists a closed stably-parallelizable manifold ˜M 30
\protect\tilde{M}^{ with Arf–Kervaire invariant 1. The goal of the chapter is to recall various geometrical constructions concerning the Kervaire Problem. In particular, we give a self-contained description of the Mahowald element in the stable homotopy group of spheres 2l \varPi_{2^l}., l ≥ 3l \ge 3.. Using this construction, we prove that the Generalized Kervaire Problem, formulated by the author in Akhmetiev (Kervaire Problems in Stable Homotopy Theory (2016). arXiv:1608.01206v1 [math.AT]), is solved positively.

The article addresses the problem of theorizing the relationship between sound and visuality on the material of the more specific topics of recorded sound and visual image. The text is organized as a playlist: throughout the eight sound examples, it identifies the concepts of current image theory that are relevant for theoretical problems of sound ...

We prove that no 14-connected (resp. 30-connected) stably parallelizable
manifold N^{30} (resp. N^{62{) of dimension 30 (resp. 62) with the Arf-Kervaire invariant 1 can
be smoothly embedded into R36 (resp. R83) ...

The article's topic is studying videogames as alternate realities that allow for existential experiences. This is possible due to immersion and player-game communication via the player character. To study these phenomenas, narratological and ANT methods were utilized. ...

The article presents the theoretical foundations and examples of the use of project and research activity methods, media resources and e-learning technologies for the formation and development of environmental literacy and environmentally responsible behavior in additional education programs. A model of three levels of student involvement in activities for the development of environmental literacy is ...

This article explores the “encyclopedic” properties of Madeleine Thien’s Do Not Say We Have Nothing (2016), seeking to define the novel as inherently comparative—that is, providing, in Edward Said’s words, “a comparative or, better, a
contrapuntal perspective” on the world with no need for a second counterpart text to draw cross-literary parallels. Written from a transpacific ...

This article focuses on media art (and specifically - virtual reality) as a powerful tool which allows transforming social agenda into personal meaning for a participating viewer. VR has recently become an intriguing medium which makes one feel present in the artistic “text”; to maximize the effect of immersion many VR projects give the viewer ...

The article presents an analysis of the possibilities and limitations of the use of information and communication technologies, in particular the Internet of things as an effective tool for artistic and sociocultural practices in the context of transformations of cultural industries. It is revealed that such radical transformations lead to a change in the formats ...

A link map is a map of spheres into another sphere with pairwise disjoint images, and a link homotopy is a homotopy through link maps. In this talk I will discuss the problem of classifying, up to link homotopy, two-component link maps of two-spheres in the four-sphere. This setting is particularly interesting because, as usual, ...

The author employs a theoretic construct based on Goffman’s (1956) self-presentation approach and a selfconcept which is taken as a complex structure of self-schema and possible selves. Within the framework of this model (or “self-matrix”), self-presentation is observed under the conditions of virtual reality, in which the usual ties between various aspects of one’sself may ...
